Vivo announces V11 with in-display fingerprint sensor and yet another notch shape

Image
Vivo has announced the V11, a new phone bound for India. The V11 follows the V9 from earlier this year, and combines elements from Vivo’s X21 and sister company Oppo’s new F9. Like the F9, the V11 has a new slimmed-down design for the display notch; while Oppo calls its version the “Waterdrop Screen,” Vivo’s take is called the “Halo Fullview Display.” The shape is actually a little different on the V11, with a more acute angle on the curve that stays closer to the circle of the selfie camera lens. I’d say it’s the smallest notch I’ve seen yet. The other feature that helps Vivo maximize screen-to-body ratio is the in-display fingerprint sensor, which at this point is basically the company’s trademark. It works the same way as on other Vivo phones like the NEX and X21; it’s slightly slower than a traditional fingerprint scanner, but more convenient to use than a scanner on the back of the phone. Vivo still hasn’t shipped a phone using the wider scanning area shown on the Apex con

Weekly poll: the best flagship and best mid-ranger from IFA 2018

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will support 5G networks

Image
Xiaomi co-founder and president Lin Bin has been taunting other brands (and teasing consumers) with how awesome the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is going to be. First the Oppo Find X-like pop-up camera now 5G support. His latest photo shows the phone with its status bar reading “5G”. The phone is in front of what appears to be a 5G testing station, “NR5G” refers to to the 5G New Radio standard, which encompass the sub-6GHz and mmWave technologies. The N257 band specifically is in the 28GHz band, so it’s mmWave tech (the faster, but shorter range of the two technologies). Qualcomm already has two modems that support the new 5G standards and promise speeds up to 2Gbps and 5Gbps. Presumably one of those is inside the Mi Mix 3 (though there are other vendors offering 5G-capable modems). Bin suggested that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 can launch in late October, so the notch-free, 5G-powered future could be less than two months away. However, the same photo was tweeted by Xiaomi's Director of

[Exclusive] Apple iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) Images, Specs Leaked Ahead of Company’s September 12 Launch Event

Image
The Apple iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) will most probably bring thinner bezels around the screen, making it more compact. It might also feature a TrueDepth camera setup at the front to make way for an iPad without a fingerprint reader. It might also be the first iPad without a 3.5mm headphone jack. After proudly bringing you the first images and video renders of the upcoming 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch iphones models that will be launching this month, we are thrilled to bring you the iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) CAD-based image and video renders. Apple is expected to launch this massive tablet with the smaller 10.5-inch variant during this month’s keynote, and these images show a lot of differences between the upcoming tablets and what we were used to seeing from the company. If not for our source  @OnLeaks , we would have never been able to present you with the latest renders. OnePlus Teases Calendar Image for January 15, 2019: Could this be Launch Date for OnePlus 6T or 7?

Image
We have been hearing a lot about OnePlus 6T  lately, and that’s fine, as OnePlus is expected to reveal the new phone in October. OnePlus usually launches the ‘T’ version of its flagship phone in October. However, the company is now teasing a calendar date for January 15, 2019. If OnePlus follows its usual release cycle, then that should put the OnePlus 6T release date somewhere in October. The Chinese company refreshes its smartphones every 6 months. As the OnePlus 6 was released in May 2018, the OnePlus 6T should come out in October. So, what’s this new January 15 date for? Oneplus posted a new image on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, that showed the calendar app on a OnePlus 6, with the a date marked as a reminder. This is the Chinese variant of the OnePlus 6 though, so perhaps it has something to do with a new product launch or an announcement. It’s a long way to go until then. OnePlus 6T: Launch Date As per the reports, and going by the previous launch dates for ‘T’

Samsung smartphone with four cameras coming this year

Image
Samsung smartphone with four cameras coming this year 03 September 2018 Samsung may be readying a device with four cameras on the back and it won't be a Galaxy Note nor a Galaxy S (nor the foldable Galaxy F) phone. The information comes from Twitter user and popular leakster  Ice universe . In his tweet Ice universe makes clear we're talking about a device that will launch in 2018 with four cameras, although no details were provided. So, what could it be? If we had to guess we would take a pick among Samsung's A series and say that it could be a Galaxy A9 device for 2019 - those typically launch at the end of previous year. Since the current A-series have dual front cameras it's not hard to imagine that the next gen will also pack dual rear ones as they often inherit Galaxy S flagship features.
